Earth Cycle Projects Final Assessment
PART 1
Rock Cycle
1. How does a metamorphic rock become a sedimentary rock?
2. How does magma changes into a metamorphic rock?
1. metamorphic > weathering > sediments > erosion > compaction > sedimentary rock.
2. magma > cooling > igneous > heat/pressure > metamorphic rock.
Carbon Cycle
3. How does a consumer become a fossil fuel?
4. How can a fossil fuel be used in photosynthesis?
3. consumer> decomposes> million of years> fossil fuel
4. fossil> CO2 emission> consumer> CO2> producer absorb CO2> photosynthesis.
Water Cycle
5. How does lake water (liquid) turn into a cloud?
6. How can a cloud turn into groundwater?
5. sun> heat> evaporation> condensation> clouds.
6. cloud> precipitation> runoff> infiltration> ground water.
PART 2
Essential Questions
Hydrosphere - Carbon cycle is connected to the hydrosphere because during the process of photosynthesis producers use water, sunlight and carbon in order to make their own food and oxygen O2. When clouds rains or snows (precipitation) the water will collects in one place by runoff.
Rock cycle- weathering and erosion happens then when rocks get into water (precipitation of sediments) then compaction happens, rock will get to sediments.
Lithosphere - In Lithosphere (which is ground), when rocks gets into water ( ocean or lake), then rocks will get together and squishes down (it means compaction). Then rocks will turn to sedimentary rock then metamorphic rock then after that, rock will melt then it will turn to magma which is lava.
Carbon cycle, when consumers die and the decomposers breaks them down during the process of decomposition, than after millions of years it will create a fossil fuel. When runoff water stops on one place (lake), then water will infiltrate, then it will go under groundwater then plants uptake water.
Atmosphere
For atmosphere, on rock cycle, weathering happens first then erosion then sediment.
For carbon cycle- when factories burns fossil fuels, (it's called Co2 Emission) and it release carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. For water cycle- when water vapor goes up to the sky and gets together(its' called condensation), then after that it will turn to clouds and it will rain or snow (it's mean precipitation) after that runoff, when snow melt or rain goes on one place by river.
Biosphere
For water cycle - During the process of photosynthesis plants takes the sunlight, water and CO2, then plants release oxygen to living things. For carbon cycle- consumers eats the plants to survive.
For rock cycle- first volcano eruption happens then it will release CO2, and if consumers breath a lot of CO2 they might die because of breathing a lot, if it releases a lot.
Short Answer:
How are the three cycles (rock, carbon, and water) connected to each other? be sure to use a minimum of four (4) vocabulary words in this answer.
In carbon and water cycle has plants (Biosphere), and that plants breath in CO2 then breath out the oxygen, It is called respiration when rocks gets into the water then rock will get together that means compaction ( under the water). Volcano erupts then releases CO2 into the atmosphere, fossil fuel transform into igneous rock.
Water Cycle is a process of which water circulates on our ecosystem.
Infiltration is a process which happens after runoff. Water goes underground and becomes soaked by the roots of plants and trees.
Runoff is when water goes underground from top of mountains.
Sunlight is Energy and light that comes from sun.
Evaporation is a process when the body of water gets heated and water gets evaporated.
Groundwater is a water that is located under the ground.
Transpiration is a process when sunlight hits the trees and there will be evaporation where liquid escapes from trees or plants.
Water vapor is evaporated invisible water.
Condensation will happen when the water vapor becomes together and makes clouds.
Clouds are visible games in the air.
Precipitation is a rainfall.
Plant Uptake is when roots of the plants soak the underground water.
Rock Cycle:
Rock cycle is the creation of different types of rock in our planet that repeats for millions of years. Igneous rock is a rock that is formed after lava cools down.
Lava is a melted rock that comes out from underground.
Cementation is a binding of a particles.
Weathering is a natural action that moves an object or causes damage that will change the texture or the shape.
Heat is a high degree of a temperature.
Pressure is amount of force.
Metamorphic Rock is a kind of rock that is changed by heat and pressure.
Sediments are small pieces of rocks.
Compaction is when a rock that is pressed by weight of the layers above them.
Sedimentary Rock is a kind of rock that is formed by minerals.
Erosion is a process that minerals that is transported by gravity, water, wind and glaciers.
Magma is a melted rock located in under the Earth's surface.
Crystallization is a liquid that becomes a solid because of amount of temperature.
Melting is a process that solid turns into liquid.
Carbon Cycle:
Carbon cycle is recycle of the oxygen (O2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) in our planet.
Cycle is a series of events that repeat again and again in same order.
Carbon is gasses or chemical element that can be released into the atmosphere.
Consumers are can be called animal or living organisms.
Respiration is when consumers breath, they take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Photosynthesis is after the carbon is on the air, the producers will take in In carbon dioxide, water and sunlight in order to make oxygen and glucose.
Sunlight is Energy and a bright light that is delivered from sun.
Glucose is a sugar or can be energy for producers.
Producer is a organism that makes its own food.
Decompose is an organism, a bacterium or a fungus that decomposes organic material. Decomposition is a process of rotting or decay.
Fossils are the remainings of dead animal that was buried in the ground for millions of years. Consumption, is when people dig the ground and get fossils or fossil fuels to use or burn them on their factories and make energy from them.
CO2 Emissions are the carbon dioxide the unclean air that came out after burning oil or fossil fuels and the chemical that goes into our atmosphere.

Reflection: Write a reflection about your Sleep & Learning PSA on your blog
1. How does sleep effect your learning?
2. How much sleep do you get each night? Do you think this is enough? Do you feel tired in the morning?
3. Will you change what you do after reading about sleep and learning? Why or why not?
Answers
1. Sleep helps to your brain a lot by letting your brain learn. When you learn something your brain takes note during when someone teaching you, your brain doesn't learn while someone teaching you, your brain learns when your are completely shut off (when your are sleeping), Why?... cause your brain has a time to learn while your are sleeping. And when you a wake during a days your brain helps you to do everything, your brain having a time to control you, not to learn.
2. I get sleep 9 hours and sometime 8:30 cause sometimes i need to wake up earlier to go to school.
I think 9 hour is enough, cause i don't feel sleepy at school. I do feel tire in the mornings, well... sometimes if i go to bed like at 12:45 am or 1:00 am.
3. Yes i will change and i will try to go to a bed earlier. Because to let my brain have a more time to learn and rest... and to not be sleepy in school.

Final Reflection
1. What is your opinion about energy drinks?
2. What is an opposing argument than the one that you have been presented with? What would the drink makers say about this?
3. Will you drink them? Why or why not?
Answers
1. In my opinion we can drink energy drinks sometimes to be more active and wake, when you are sleepy or tired during school or work. But energy drinks are bad because energy drink has high sugar, heart wouldn't bit naturally, make you g the bathroom, and make you more thirsty.
2. Drink makes say "its good for you and healthy" to make money and sell.
3. If i feel sleepy or tired i would drink, but not always, maybe once a month, but usually i drink coffee.
